Pierre Augustin Berthemy was born on May 16, 1778 at Montier-en-Der, in Champagne.
In May 1812, he became aide-de-camp of the King of Naples, Joachim Murat.
He died under the Second Empire, on January 31, 1855.
He was buried in the Père Lachaise Cemetery in Paris (28th division)
