Julie married Joseph Bonaparte in 1795, so she became Queen Consort of Naples in 1806 then of Spain in 1808.

She passed away on April 7, 1845 in Florence [Firenze], Italy. Her grave Grave of Julie Clary is in the Santa Croce basilica Basilique Santa Croce in Florence of this town.
