French stamp of 30+9 francs depicting Pierre Simon de Laplace
Stamp with a face value of 30 francs, issued in 1955 in honor of the mathematician, astronomer and physicist Pierre Simon de Laplace (1749-1827).
The design is the work of Paul Pierre Lemagny and engraving that of René Cottet.
The original format, perforations included, is 26 x 40 millimeters.
It was issued 900 000 copies of this stamp from June to October 1955.
